Return Policy

There are two types of Return policies on KnifeMarket.

  1. KnifeMarket's Return Policy
    This policy protects Buyers from defective or misrepresented items. This policy applies to every item sold on KnifeMarket. Sellers bear all costs of return shipping. The Buyer receives a full refund, including shipping costs.
  2. Sellers' Return Policy
    Sellers must choose a return policy for each listing. They can either allow or refuse no-questions-asked returns. If the Seller allows returns, the Buyer receives a refund minus the original outbound shipping and return shipping costs, which are non-refundable.

Important deadline

Returns must be opened within 5 calendar days after delivery.

All returns must be arranged and processed through KnifeMarket. Do not ship the item back yourself. We will provide you with a prepaid, insured return shipping label. Returns sent without our authorization may be refused and will not be eligible for a refund.


Returns vs Disputes

A return applies when the Buyer received the item and the item can be sent back to the Seller.

A dispute applies when something more serious or unclear happened with the order and KnifeMarket needs to investigate before deciding on a refund, return, Seller payout, courier claim, or other resolution.

If the package was not delivered, appears lost during transport, arrived empty, contained unrelated contents, or the purchased item was missing from the package, this is usually handled under our Disputes Policy.

KnifeMarket's Return Policy

We offer Buyer Protection that covers free returns and a full refund for defective or misrepresented items if you report it within 5 calendar days after delivery.

Once the shipping courier updates the status to "Delivered", the package is considered delivered and the 5-calendar-day period starts.

If the courier status says "Delivered", but you have not received your package, or if the package appears lost during transport, this is handled under our Disputes Policy.

IMPORTANT: All shipments are fully insured for the total value of the order.

Eligible Returns:

  • Inaccurate match to the listing
  • Undisclosed damage
  • Wrong item received, if the item can be returned

If the package was empty, contained unrelated contents or not authentic / counterfeit items, or the purchased item was missing from the package, the case may be handled under our Disputes Policy instead.

If you think you are eligible for a return, please File for a Return. We will notify the Seller and review the return claim. If approved, we will arrange for a return.

IMPORTANT: All returns are handled by KnifeMarket. Once we approve the return, we will email you a prepaid return shipping label with full insurance for the item. Buyers should NOT arrange their own return shipping unless it is previously agreed by KnifeMarket.

If no return or dispute claim is submitted to KnifeMarket within 5 calendar days after delivery, the earnings may be fully disbursed to the Seller. No further claims may be accepted after this period has passed.

For eligible returns under KnifeMarket's Return Policy, the Seller bears all costs of return shipping. The Buyer will receive a full refund.

Sellers' Return Policy

For any other returns, check the Seller's return policy before making a purchase. It is mandatory for Sellers to display their return policy for every listing. You will find their return policy at the bottom of the listing, next to the Product specifications.

If the Seller offers returns and you would like to return your order to receive a refund, you have 5 calendar days after delivery to File for a Return.

All returns are handled by KnifeMarket. Once we approve the return, we will email you a prepaid return shipping label with full insurance for the item, together with the cost of the return shipping. Buyers should NOT arrange their own return shipping unless it is previously agreed by KnifeMarket.

These types of returns are covered by the Buyer. The Buyer will receive a full refund minus the cost of two-way shipping.


File for a Return

To open a return, contact us at returns@knife-market.com.

Buyers have 5 calendar days after delivery to initiate a return.

To successfully file a return request, send us a clear description of the claim and proof photos of the issue, when applicable.

Our team will guide you through the rest of the process.

Return Review Process

KnifeMarket reviews return requests to determine whether the item is eligible for return under this policy.

In some cases, KnifeMarket may share the Buyer’s claim with the Seller to understand the Seller’s perspective. Sellers have the right to respond to the claim and provide additional information.

The Buyer and/or Seller may be asked to provide the following additional information as part of the return review:

  • proof photos showing the entire item received
  • photos highlighting the problem area, when applicable
  • photos of the packaging and full shipping label
  • other information requested by KnifeMarket

If the case involves a missing package, lost shipment, empty package, unrelated/counterfeit contents, suspected tampering, suspected fraud, courier issue, or conflicting claims between Buyer and Seller, KnifeMarket may handle the case under the Disputes Policy instead.

Return Shipping Deadline

Once the return has been confirmed by KnifeMarket, the Buyer has 5 business days to ship the item back.

If more than 5 business days have passed and the item has not been handed over to the shipping company, the return shipping label may be canceled and the Buyer may no longer be eligible for a refund.

Contact us if you need more time to return the item.

Refunds

This section applies to approved returns. Refunds connected to disputes are handled according to the Disputes Policy.

For approved returns, refunds are initiated to the Buyer once the Seller has successfully received the returned item.

Sellers have 5 calendar days to confirm delivery and to let KnifeMarket know in case the item was different from how it was sent.

Once the Seller confirms successful delivery, or once 5 calendar days have passed according to the shipping company's tracking information, the refund will be initiated to the Buyer's account.

Please allow 5-10 business days for the refund to be processed by the payment provider.

Return Abuse

Abuse of refunds and returns may, at KnifeMarket's discretion, result in account limitation(s), being banned from the KnifeMarket platform, and/or legal action.

All Sales Final

KnifeMarket does not accept returns if the Buyer fails to file a return request within the required timeframe and the payment has been released to the Seller, or in the following circumstances:

  • The return request was approved, but the Buyer failed to ship the item back to the Seller within 5 business days after receiving the approval confirmation.
  • The Buyer does not contact KnifeMarket within the return timeframe when returns are accepted upon approval.
  • The Buyer ships back the incorrect item to the Seller.
  • The Buyer has accepted the delivery of their item through their order details.

If no return or dispute claim is submitted within 5 calendar days after delivery, the Seller’s earnings will be fully released and no further claims may be accepted.

Cancellation Policy

Orders that have not been shipped 6 business days or more from the purchase date are eligible for cancellation and a full refund. This applies from the date when the Seller confirms the order, not from the date when the order was placed.

If you would like to cancel your order, contact us and contact the Seller immediately.

If the order has not yet been shipped, the Buyer will receive a full refund, including shipping costs.

To Sellers: If you are experiencing shipping delays and need more time, please contact your Buyer and make them aware of the situation. Also contact us so we are aware of the delay.

Legal Right to Withdraw (EU/UK only)

If you are purchasing from a professional seller (not a private seller) and reside in the EU or UK, you may be entitled to a 14-day withdrawal period under applicable consumer protection laws. These rights apply regardless of the Seller’s stated return policy and are in addition to KnifeMarket’s policies.
