How to File for a Return & Refund
Buyers have 5 days upon delivery to initiate a return and receive their money back. To successfully file a return & refund request, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with proof photos of any damage to the item and a clear description of the claim.
Our team will guide you through the rest of the process.
There are two types of Return policies on KnifeMarket.
- KnifeMarket's Return policy
This policy protects Buyers from defective or misrepresented items (see Eligible Returns for details). This policy applies to every item sold on KnifeMarket. Sellers bear all costs of return shipping. The Buyer receives a full refund, including shipping costs.
- Sellers' Return policy
Sellers can choose if they support a "no-questions-asked" return policy (in case the Buyer doesn't like the item, changes their mind, or for any other reason wants to return the item) or not. It is mandatory for a Seller to choose their return policy for every listing they create. You can find Seller's return policy next to the Product specifications. The Buyer bears all costs of the return shipping and receives a full refund minus the two-way shipping cost.
1. KnifeMarket's Return policy
We offer Buyer Protection that covers free returns and a full refund for defective or misrepresented items if you report it within 5 days of receiving your order. Once the shipping courier updates the status to "Delivered", the package is considered delivered and the clock starts ticking. If the courier status says "Delivered", but you haven't received your package, immediately contact email@example.com.
IMPORTANT: All shipments are fully insured for the total value of the order (including shipping costs).
- Inaccurate match to the listing
- Not authentic / counterfeit
- Undisclosed damage
- Wrong item
If you think you are eligible for a return, contact KnifeMarket immediately at firstname.lastname@example.org. We will notify the Seller and discuss the return claim. If approved, we will arrange for a return.
IMPORTANT: All returns are handled by KnifeMarket. Once we approve the return, we will email you a prepaid return shipping label with full insurance for the item. Buyers should NOT arrange their own return shipping unless it is previously agreed by KnifeMarket.
If no claims are submitted to KnifeMarket after 5 days after delivery, the earnings will be fully disbursed to the Seller. No further claims can be made after the 5 days have passed.
For eligible returns, the Seller bears all costs of return shipping. The Buyer will receive a full refund.
2. Sellers' Return policy
For any other returns, look into the Seller's return policy before making a purchase. It is mandatory for sellers to display their return policy for every listing. You will find their return policy at the bottom of the listing, next to the Product specifications.
If the Seller offers returns and you would like to return your order to receive a refund, you have 5 days after the delivery of your order to contact KnifeMarket (email@example.com). All returns are handled by KnifeMarket. Once we approve the return, we will email you a prepaid return shipping label with full insurance for the item, together with the cost of the return shipping. Buyers should NOT arrange their own return shipping unless it is previously agreed by KnifeMarket.
These types of returns are covered by the Buyer. Buyer will receive a full refund minus the cost of two-way shipping.
KnifeMarket investigates the claim presented to determine if the item is as described or warrants a return or refund. In some cases, KnifeMarket may share the Buyer’s claim with the Seller to understand the Seller’s perspective in the investigation process. Sellers have the right to dispute the claim and provide additional information against it.
The Buyer and/or Seller may be asked to provide the following additional information as part of the investigation:
- Provide proof photos to show the entire item(s) received
- Highlight the problem area (when applicable)
- Provide photos of the packaging and full shipping label
- Other information as warranted by KnifeMarket
Return Shipping Deadline
Once the return has been confirmed by KnifeMarket, Buyer has 5 days to ship the item back. If more than 5 days have passed and the item has not been handed over to the shipping company, the return shipping label will be canceled and you will not be eligible for a refund. Contact us in case you need more days to return the item.
Refunds are initiated to the Buyer once the Seller has successfully received the returned item. Sellers have 5 days to confirm delivery and to let KnifeMarket know in case the item was different from how it was sent. Once the Seller confirms successful delivery (or 5 days have passed, according to the shipping company's tracking information), the refund will be initiated to the Buyer's account. Please allow for the processing time of 5-10 business days for the refund.
Abuse of refunds and returns may, at KnifeMarket's discretion, result in account limitation(s), being banned from the KnifeMarket platform, and/or legal action.
All Sales Final
KnifeMarket does not accept returns or issue a refund if the Buyer fails to file a refund claim request in the allotted time frame and the payment has been released to the Seller or in the following circumstances:
- The return request was approved, but the Buyer fails to ship the item back to the Seller after 5 days of receiving the approval confirmation.
- If the Buyer does not contact KnifeMarket within the return timeframe when returns are accepted upon approval.
- If the Buyer ships back the incorrect item to the Seller
- If the Buyer has accepted the delivery of their item through their order details
Orders that have been delayed 5 days or more from the purchase date (this is when the Seller confirms the order, not when the order was placed) are eligible for a full refund. In case you would like to cancel your order, contact us (firstname.lastname@example.org) and the Seller immediately. In case the order has not yet been shipped, the Buyer will receive a full refund, including shipping costs.
To Sellers: If you are experiencing shipping delays and need more time, please contact your buyer making them aware of the situation. Also, contact KnifeMarket (email@example.com) so we are aware of the delay.
