Product description
This gyuto was made by the immensely talented young Japanese blacksmith Kyohei Shindo. His blades are typically around 45mm or so in height at the heel. He also does not typically accept custom orders.
I was fortunate enough to be part of a limited group buy (after much persuasion), and he made a small batch of 10 mega tall gyutos. This is one of those blades. Truly a rare and special knife.
The blade measures 248mm in edge length and a massive 63.5mm in height at the heel.
I bought the knife blade only, no handle. The handle seen in the photos was 3D printed by me.
I've used it 3 times. I have not sharpened it.
