Returns & Disputes

Returns vs Disputes

Returns and disputes are handled separately on KnifeMarket.

A return applies when you received the item and it can be sent back to the Seller.

A dispute applies when something more serious or unclear happened with the order and KnifeMarket needs to investigate before deciding on a refund, return, Seller payout, courier claim, or other resolution.

Important deadline

Returns and disputes must be opened within 5 calendar days after delivery. If your package was never delivered or appears lost in transport, open a dispute as soon as possible.

Returns

Choose a return if you received the item and want or need to send it back.

This may apply if:

  • the item is defective
  • the item was misrepresented in the listing
  • the item has undisclosed damage
  • you received the wrong item and it can be returned
  • the Seller allows no-questions-asked returns

All returns must be arranged through KnifeMarket. Do not ship the item back yourself unless KnifeMarket has approved it in advance.

Disputes

Choose a dispute if the issue needs to be investigated before KnifeMarket can decide what should happen.

This may apply if:

  • the package was never delivered
  • the courier marked the package as delivered, but you did not receive it
  • the package appears lost during transport
  • the package arrived empty
  • the package contained unrelated contents
  • the purchased item was missing from the package
  • the package looked opened, damaged, resealed, or tampered with
  • the Buyer and Seller disagree about what was shipped or received
  • fraud or abuse is suspected

All shipments on KnifeMarket are fully insured for the total value of the order. If your package was lost, not delivered, or damaged during transport, open a dispute and we will investigate the case.

During a dispute, KnifeMarket may collect information from both the Buyer and Seller, review courier details, hold Seller payouts, or take temporary account actions while the case is being reviewed.
