Product description
Step into the legacy of the Wild West with The Crusader - a custom-made Bowie knife by the renowned bladesmith Jason Johnson for the film "Corsicana." He is a champion knife thrower who has also appeared on FORGED IN FIRE: Knife or Death (April 17th 2018).
I acquired the Crusader from him back in 2020 and it's been one of my most prized possessions. The blade is extremely sharp, so please handle with extreme care! I and others have gotten cuts just from slightly caressing it.
The following is a blurb, directly from Jason himself about the Crusader blade: "This 1095 steel Crusader is made by hand by me alone. I don't use any clay in the heat treatment. It is differential hardening through grain refinement (refined perlite and cementite in the spine) to create a very grain refined martensite transformation. The separate solid state of flexible and tough core or spine is paramount to me. Though the goal is a beautiful Hamon as well, its secondary to the performance. You have all seen me chopping steel and flexing blades in an effort to refine my heat treatment knowledge, through book work trial and error and a little bit of luck. I'm proud of what I have created and am even more proud to put it in your hands."
