CASE XX STOCKMAN, beautiful jigged bone handles. 6347 HU pattern with punch/ awl blade, clip point blade and sheepsfoot blade. Knife was made between 1940 and 1960. PLEASE PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THE DETAILS I AM GOING TO PROVIDE!!! I bought this knife about 10 years ago at an antique store in Mountain View, Arkansas. When I bought the knife the front bone handle was severely damaged and the original Case shield was gone. The back bone handle was in good condition. The frame and blades were in very good condition and the knife had good snap on all three blades. I contacted the CASE factory in Bradford, PA and I was quoted a price to replace the damaged bone handle and missing shield. I sent this knife to them to do the work and about 3 months later I received the repaired knife back. They did a wonderful job replacing the handles, both front and back. They had to replace both bone handles because knife wouldn't have looked as good as it does with one new bone handle and the original handle left in place. They did not return the original handle as I asked them to and the new shield was glued in place instead of being pinned like the original shield would have been. When they repaired the knife it was done beautifully and the knife is in great condition. There are some issues that were caused by knife handles being replaced. The clip blade and sheepfoot blade only snap when they are being closed. The punch/ awl blade is very tight and will not snap open or closed. The clip blade and sheepfoot blade will not snap open and all three blades are very tight and somewhat difficult to open. I believe they could have tuned the knife better so that all three blades would have opened and closed with a good snap. I leave it up to the person that buys this wonderful knife to decide if they want to tune knife so they get that famous CASE walk and talk on all three blades. All three blades are shiny and very nice. I don't know the history of the knife before I got it so I don't know how much it was carried. Based on the overall condition of the knife when I bought it, it was well taken care of, except for the severe damage that was done to shield side bone handle. I have disclosed to potential buyers that this knife has been factory repaired and DOES NOT have original handles or shield. Still, this is a very nice CASE knife and it is at least 66 years old and perhaps up to 86 years old. Of course, the replaced bone handles and shield are modern but very nice! I need to sell this wonderful knife and I will sell it at a very low price to a CASE knife collector or someone that loves old and unusual knives.
